Taylor Township Fire Rescue is an all-Volunteer Fire Department with 15 members providing Fire, Rescue, and Basic Life Support Ambulance Service to the non-incorporated areas of Taylor Township. Operations run from Station 81 at 5314 Flint Way in Kokomo, Indiana.
We provide services with a fleet of Apparatus that are exceptional for a Volunteer Department. We operate two Class A Engine Companies, one Heavy Rescue Company, a 2000 Gallon Tanker for rural water supply and a Brush Truck for field and wild land fires.
Taylor Township Fire Rescue has a dedicated roster of personnel who provide Basic Life Support Ambulance 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We average 250 calls per year for service with a ratio of 73% EMS related calls and 27% Fire or Rescue related.
We also provide and receive Automatic and Mutual Aid from surrounding departments in Howard and Tipton Counties.
Taylor Township Fire Rescue provides an aggressive Fire Safety Program to the school age children that attend one of the three full time schools in Taylor Township with annual Fire Safety programs, station tours and our Smoke Detector Program where we pass out over 100 smoke Detectors each year to every Kindergartener in our District.
